Answer» (i) The predatory birds will pick up the green coloured grasshoppers as these will be visible against a pale yellow background of dry bushes and dry grass.(ii) The population of brown grasshoppers will increase as they have camouflaged the background due to which the predators will not be able distinguish them from the background and thus brown grasshoppers will survive.(iii) This phenomenon is known as directional natural selection.
