On being slowly passed through water, PH_(3) forms bubbles but NH_(3) dissolves. Why is it so ? |
| Answer» SOLUTION :N-H BOND is more POLAR than P-H bond. Hence, `NH_(3)` forms hydrogenbonds with `H_(2)O` molecules and hence DISSOLVES in it whereas `PH_(3)` does not dissolve and hence forms bubbles. | |
