Answer»  Let CO = x moles So, CO2= 1-x moles. Now 2NaOH + CO2 ----> Na2CO3 + H2O2 moles NaOH react with 1 mole CO2So, 20g NaOH = 0.5 Mole NaOH will react with 1/4 = 0.25 mole CO2 = 1-x moles So, x=0.75moles ie moles of CO = 0.75 moles.Now On oxidation CO + 1/2O2 -----> CO20.75------------------> CO2(0.75moles)Total Moles of CO2 = 0.25 + 0.75 = 1mole1 mole CO2 will react with 2 moles NaOH ie 40 x 2 = 80g.  |
