Answer»

The digested food is taken up by the walls of the intestine . The inner lining of the small intestine has numerous finger like projections called villi which increase the surface area for absorption. The villi are richly supplied by the blood vessels which take the absorbed food to each and every cell of the body.

Villi are the small finger like projections present in the small intestine and they are connected with an extensive network of blood vessels. They increase the surface area for absorption. The villi pass the absorbed food to every cell in the organism with the help of blood vessels.

The small intestine has millions of tiny finger-like projections called villi. These villi increase the surface area for more efficient food absorption. Within these villi, are present numerous blood vessels which absorb the digested food and carry it to the blood stream.
