Answer» <p>When dilute hydrochloric acid is added to a small amount of copper oxide, an effervescence will be observed i.e a vigorous reaction will take place and the product of the reaction is calcium chloride and water.</p><p>This kind of a reaction is referred to as neutralization reaction.</p><p>The copper oxide is a base and HCl is an acid hence acid-base reaction thus neutralization reaction.</p>
