PASSAGE BASED QUESTION Please read the passage given below and answer the questions: Q5. The process of separation of coloured components from a mixture is known as Chromatography. Kroma in Greek means colour. This technique was first used for the separation of those solutes that dissolve in the same solvent. The different colours get separated in different bands of colours at different heights. (a) What is the solute and solvent in the blue black ink? (b) What type of coloured mixtures can be separated by Chromatography? (c) What do you observe as the water rises up on the filter paper? (d) Give any one application of Chromatography. |
