Answer» Answer: PEASANTS do hold an important role in the economy of India.But the DIFFERENT sectors of economy like Manufacturing, production, industry, etc. have made a vital role in the economy of India. So, TODAY's economy does not totally depend upon peasants and they are not important as they were during the time of Mughals. Mughal gave rich prosperity to the peasantry. The different appointed officials kept their hand together for peasants. But today there is a deep gap between the standards of peasants and rich businessmen. I have done no GOOGLING !
