  1. Binoculars consists a pair of identical or mirror symmetrical telescope mounted side by side and aligned to point accurately in the same direction, allowing the viewer to use both eyes, when viewing distant objects.
  2. The prisms are used in a set of binoculars for image correction and keeping the binoculars small enough to be hand-held. 
  3. The prisms also serve to reduce the size of the binoculars. This is a result of their path bending qualities, as the light’s path curls through the prisms, the length of the instrument is reduced making it easier to handle.
