Prove that Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ▶CaCO3 + H2O is a combination reaction?

Answer»

Hey

Here is your answer,

Combination reaction is the REASON in which two it more compounds combine to form a single compound. But this is not applicable here

The reaction of Ca(OH)2 with CO2 goes as follows: Ca(OH)2 + CO2 -> CaCO3 + H2O.

In this reaction two products are FORMED: CHALK and water. Because there is no reaction in which two compounds form a single ONE there is no combination reaction

Hope it helps you!
