Pure alcohol is not used as automotive fuel but blends are used |
|
Answer» Ethanol is bad for cold-starting, because it doesn't burn as quickly as gasoline. (It has a higher octane, if you're interested.) Pure ethanol would be useless as fuel in the winter months. There are no passenger cars designed to TAKE E100 (but some racing cars are) so it could DAMAGE your car engine.Fuel blending is typically performed to MODIFY the chemistry of the fuel, yet in-seam and in-mine variability of all COALS, and comparable variability of biomass fuels and petroleum cokes, makes the process of blend management more difficult. |
