Answer» Solution : (a) Banyan tree has hypanthodium inflorescence in which the RECEPTACLE becomes pear shaped and CONTAINS a hollow CENTRAL cavity and a hairy opening called OSTIOLE at their anterior side. The hollow cavity BEARS many male flowers a the ostiole side and female flowers at the basal side. Between male flowers and female flowers, gall flowers (steril female flowers) are also present.
