| Answer» Solution :SUCKLING by calf produces neurohormonal reflex action. Level of oxytocin increases in NEUROHYPOPHYSIS oxytocin is synthesized in nucleus region of hypothalamus. Its level increases by mammary gland stimulation in 1-2 MINUTES. As a result contraction of smooth muscles of mammary gland secretes milk. Entire process can be SUMMARIZED as follow - Mammary gland - (Stimulation by sucking) - Brain (Hypothalamus) Neurohypophysis - Blood (Oxytocin) - Mammary gland (smooth muscle) - milk SECRETION. | |
