(iii) First formed primary xylem elements (protoxylem) lies TOWARDS the centre and the later formed primary xylem (metaxylem) lies towards the periphery of the organ (ENDARCH arrangement). (IV) Rounded parenchymatous cells with large intercellular spaces.
