Question : Biological classification is a dynamic and ever evolving phenomenon which keeps changing with our understanding of life forms. Justify, the statement taking any two examples . Discuss the changes made in studying biological classification from time to time and also enumerate the need for this changes.

Solution :Biological CLASSIFICATION is undergoing changes. In the beginning, only few characters were picked up arbitrarily in artificial system of classification. Gradually, more characters were used fro classification . Two kingdom system of classification was revised to three kingdom system of classification . In this kingdom protista was added. It was followed by four kingdom system by Copeland (1955) . Kingdom monera was added in TI. FIVE kingdom system of classification (Whittaker, 1963) CAME into force. Woese has added ANOTHER kingdom called Archaea.
