SOLUTION :(1) When there are FAULTY genes on CHROMOSOME no. 11 and 16, there is deficiency in synthesis of beta globin and alpha globin chains.
(2 ) This DISORDER is called Thalassemia.
(3) Symptoms of Thalassemia: (i) Anaemia due to lack of synthesis of haemoglobin (ii) Jaundice like condition. (iii) Change and variation in the shape and size of RBCs.
