Solution :The cells of collenchyma contain protoplasm and are LIVING WITHOUT intercellular SPACES. When sclerenchymaconsistof thick-walled DEAD cells . In the beginning the cells are living and have protoplasm but due to deposition of impermeable SECONDARY walls (lignin) they become dead, thick and hard.
