Question : Describe fission and its types.

Answer»

Solution :Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction SEEN in single celled organism.
In these organisms, CELL division is itself a mode of reproduction.
These organisms reproduce by binary fission.
Binary fission : In this type of cell division cell divides into two halves and each RAPIDLY grows into an adult.
E.g. Amoeba, Paramoecium.
Clones : Binary fission involves mitosis only and consequently the resultant offsprings are genetically identical to the parent and to each other.
Budding : In yeast, the division is unequal and small buds are produced which remain attached initially to the parent cell which, eventually gets separated and mature into new yeast organisms or CELLS.
