Solution :(d) Sacred groves : These are small group of FORESTS with special religious importance in a particular cultures and are also of mythological importance.
These are undisturbed forests without any HUMAN interventions and include a number of rare, endangered and endemic species.
Sacred groves are found in Khasi and Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya.
Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan, Western GHATS regions of Karnataka and Maharashtra and the Sarguja, Chanda and Bastar areas of Madhya Pradesh.
These are PROTECTED by native people as a part of CULTURAL traditions.
In Meghalaya, the sacred groves are the last refuges for a large number of rare and threatened plants.
