A CULTIVAR is a plant or grouping ofplants selected for desirable characteristics that can be maintained by propagation. e.g Fusa Gaurav of mustard.
A taxonomic category that ranks below species, its members differing from others of the same species in minor but heritable characteristics is called variety. e.g cauliflower and cabbage.
