Answer: My legislation bill would be that recycling and composting is a requirement. It would be free for all people and there would be recycling bins throughout the city. Doing so, will help with the amount of water pollution because some of the things that get thrown away go into the ocean and can be very harmful to aquatic marine life. There would be smart technology on the bins so if you need to throw something away, then you need to hit a button that will tell you if you put it in the right bin or not. There would also be a specific bin for compost such as food scraps. Recycling will help the environment will things such as water pollution and when you recycle things, industries can make new items out of them. Composting is helpful because it adds nutrients to the soil for plants. When the composting bin fills, they would have a truck go and spread it through public gardens, parks, or forests. The recycling would go to a factory to be made into new items that would be helpful humans in their everyday life. This bill would be enforced by the city council and they would be required to send it to the state senate and then there would be legal action for every person that had not recycled at least 30 things a month. This is what I would try and get implemented if I was elected official with the responsibility of helping protect our environment.
