= (i) Sickle cell anaemia : The mutant haemoglobin molecule undergoes polymerisation under low oxygen tension causing the change in the SHAPE of the RBCs from biconcave disc ELONGATED. Sickle like structure.
= (ii) Down.s syndrome : The affected individual is short STATURED with small round head, furrowed tongue and partially open mouth.
= PHYSICAL and mental development is retarded.
