In cretinism physical mental growth is RETARDED, short limbs, big tongue, dry skin etc. is observed. Myxeema is more common in female than male. Abnormal metabolic rate, ROUGH skin etc are the symptosm. Hyperthyroidism - `T_(3)` and `T_(4)` level abnormally INCREASES. Grave.s disease and goitre with NODES occur. Exophthalmic goitre is observed in adult. TOXIC goitre (Pleumer.s disease) is due to excessive growth of thyroxion. Rate of metabolism increases.
