(i) Cranium - 8 cranial bones, forms hard, PROTECTIVE covering enveloping brain.
(ii) Brain is enveloped by three protecting meninges.
(a) Piamatter : Inner most, THIN, delicate and have blood CAPILLARIES.
 (b) Arachnoid : Structurally spider.s web like middle layer.
(c) Duramater : Outer most, rigid, fibrous layer, connected to inside with cranium.
(iii) Cerebrospinal fluid : Present between middle and outer meninges. It acts as lubricant.
