In it. water diffuses only in liquid FORM and no heat is generated in the process. Whereas imbibition is a physical process that occurs due to various phenomena-diffusion, capillary force and surface tension Presence of semipermeable membrane is not essential for the process. In it, water is absorbed/imbibed in liquid as WELL as in vapour form and heat is generated in the process. | |
