Question : Oxygen is an essential requirementfor aerobicrespiration but it entersthe respiratory process at the end ? Discuss. |
|
Answer» Solution :`O_(2)` is usedfor formation of ATP in aerobicrespiration. It is a strongelectronegative elementand final acceptor. Itintakes proton in ETS medium and forms water. It obtains energyform ETS. (absorbs) `O_(2)` enters last in RESPIRATORY pathway. Its presence is necessary. Inaerobic respiration . Itremoves hydrogen and pushes theprocess forward . This WAY final hydrogen acts as a hydrogenacceptor. This way ENERGY is produced in oxidative phosphorylation which can be done by using OXIDATION REDUCTION energy.
