Question : Photorespiration does not take place in C_(4) plants. |
|
Answer» SOLUTION :The sugar formation process occurs in LEAVES of monocot plantas like sugarcane GROWING in tropicl zones in which first product is fused with 4C pathway. The MECHANISM of these plants is as such that it increases the concentration of `CO_(2)` at the enzyme site. So its productivity is increased by RuBisCO, MOREOVER `O_(2)` is prevented to enter into the cells of bundle sheath so there is no possibility of photorespiration lying in it. |
