Recombination can be identified using antibiotic resistance. When INSERTION is done at tetracyclineresistance GENE site, the transfor-mants will not show antibiotic resistance when placed in tetracycline containing MEDIUM . Recombination can also be identified using insertional inactivation method. The plasmid will give a blue colour to the colony if there is no inserted foreign DNA .
