Answer» SOLUTION :The shoot apex is the terminal MERISTEM of the shoot. Histologically, it is that part of the shoot which lies immediately above the uppermost leaf primordium whereas the root apex is sub-terminal in position and is ENCLOSED partly by a root cap. The root apex produces cells towards the axis and also away from it to initiate root cap. Moreover, the root apex is not ASSOCIATED with theformation of lateral appendages.
