The haploid nucleus of the sperm and that of the ovum fuse together to form a diploid zygote. c. d, e and f - Are the STRUCTURES formed by cleavage. In the 16 celled STAGE, the structure is called MORULA. FINALLY the morula develops a cavity. In this stage, the structure is called blastocyst. It has an outer layer called trophoblast and inner group of cells called inner cell mass. The blastocyst becomes embedded in the endometrium of the uterus. This is called implantation and it leads to pregnancy. |
