Question : Some of these terms/chemicals are associated with the C_(4) cycle. Explain. Hatch slack pathway Calvin cycle (c ) PEP carboxylase (d) Bundlesheath cells |
|
Answer» Solution :Hatch - slack pathway : The formatio of glucose occurs in a different way in `C_(4)` pathway than `C_(3)` pathway. That was explained by two scientists M.D. Hatch and C.R. Slack. So its is called Hatch - Slack pathway. Calvin cycle : This PROCESS occur in bundle sheath cells where glucose is formed by fixation of `CO_(2)`. (c )PEP Carboxylase : The enzyme located in MESOPHYLL cells of `C_(4)` PLANTS that fixes `CO_(2)` and forms oxaloacetic acid fused with 4C. (d) Cell of bundle sheath : These are special type of around vascular bundles. That are located in veins of monocots. They do possess chloroplasts. Here `C_(3)` pathway becomes granaless and Glucose is formed. |
