Solution :A diploid parent body LIKE pteridophyta, gymnosperm, ANGIOSPERM and most of the animals GAMETES are produced by meiosis.
In diploid organism the meiocytes (gamete mother cell) undergo meiosis.
At the END of meiosis, only one set of chromosomes (n) GETS incorporated in each gamete.
