Question:-What is the difference between Methane and Ethane?__________________________No spam O_o

Answer»

The MAIN difference between methane and ethane is that methane contains only one carbon atom BONDED to four hydrogen atoms whereas ethane contains two carbon atoms bonded to each other and each carbon atom is bonded to three hydrogen atoms.

methane and ethane are almost equally stable elements. Explanation: but Ethane has CHEMICAL formula CH2 where as methane has CH4. Which shows methane has more hydrogen molecules than ethane. As hydrogen is most combustible and it reacts fast.So ch4 is more stable than ch2.
