Digital India

The ‘Digital India’ programme was launched by the Indian Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi on July 1st, 2015. The programme aims to employ information technology, computers, telecommunication facilities, internet, network connectivity and digitisation techniques to modernise the services offered to citizens. It also aims to provide internet connectivity to all citizens.

Digital India’ will provide digital vaults (safes) for people to store their certificates online and give each person a unique private key for access. Applications will be made and processed online. Thus the possibility of fraudulent means will be eliminated.

Mobile phones will be used as personal identity for various transaction. People in rural and urban areas will have access to all digital services and Internet on their mobiles or laptops, etc.

Digital India will bring more transparency in governance and processes. Employment will increase, activities will become automated and quality of service will improve.

The programme also aims to provide wi-fi services to 2.5 lakh schools, broadband internet connectivity to 2.5 lakh villages and bring imports on the same level as exports.

डिजिटल भारत ‘डिजिटल भारत’ कार्यक्रम प्रधान मन्त्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा जुलाई 1, 2015 को चलाया गया। इस कार्यक्रम के अन्तर्गत सूचना-प्रौद्योगिकी, कम्प्यूटरों, दूर-संचार माध्यमों, इण्टरनेट, नेटवर्क सम्पर्क व डिजिटाइजेशन तकनीकों का प्रयोग कर नागरिकों को दी जाने वाली सेवाओं को आधुनिकीकरण किया जायेगा। इससे सभी नागरिकों को इण्टरनेट सुविधा भी प्रदान की जायेगी।

‘डिजिटल भारत’ लोगों को अपने प्रमाण-पत्र डिजिटल तिजोरियों में रखने की सुविधा देगा जिसे वे एक अनोखी निजी चाबी द्वारा ऑनलाइन प्राप्त कर सकेंगे। प्रार्थना-पत्रे को भेजना व. प्रसंस्करण करना ऑनलाइन होगा। इससे धोखाधड़ी के साधन समाप्त हो जायेंगे। मोबाइल फोनों का उपयोग विभिन्न लेन-देन में व्यक्तिगत पहचान के रूप में होगा।

शहरी व ग्रामीण इलाकों में लोगों को सभी डिजिटल सेवाएँ व इण्टरनेट सुविधा अपने मोबाइल फोन वे लेपटॉप पर उपलब्ध होंगी। ‘डिजिटल भारत’ प्रशासन व प्रक्रियाओं में अधिक पारदर्शिता लायेगा।
नियोजन में वृद्धि होगी, कार्यकलाप स्वचालित हो जायेंगे तथा सेवाओं की गुणवत्ता बढ़ेगी।

इस कार्यक्रम द्वारा 2.5 लाख विद्यालयों को वाइ-फाई सेवाएँ उपलब्ध करायी जायेंगी। 2.5 लाख गाँवों को ब्रॉडबैंड सम्पर्क दिया जायेगा तथा आयात को निर्यात के समान स्तर पर लाया जायेगा।
