Answer» My system on desktop: Windows 10 with Intel I-7, 8 MB Ram, 1 TB HD.
My system on laptop: Windows 10 with Intel I-5, 8 MB Ram, 1 TB HD.
Desktop is CONNECTED to a modem via an ethernet cable, and the laptop is connected to the same modem via wireless. Both connect fine to the Net.
PROBLEM: I have a new desktop and a new laptop. I wish to connect the two via a Homegroup so that I can use the Printer that is connected to the desktop's printer. I have created a Homegroup on the desktop by following the instructions from Microsoft's Win10.
The laptop cannot 'see' the Homegroup, and only wants to set up it's own Homegroup.
I have tried all the settings on both computers, but the laptop still can't 'see' the Homegroup. I know I'm doing something wrong.
Can anyone HELP with this problem? Is file and print sharing enabled on both PC's ? ?It turns out it was a Firewall issue on my desktop.
Problem solved. Thanks patio for pointing me in the right direction.
