What did you use to restore the OPERATING system; a recovery partition on hard drive, a recovery disc from laptop manufacturer, or a retail Windows XP install CD ?i use the retail windows XP cd installer to restore my operating systemYou need to download and install the motherboard drivers for Acer Aspire 4310 notebook (and Microsoft Windows XP Professional x32) from the Acer website. Install "chipset" first, then any built-in peripherals. For "United States" , start here. Or pick your country from within http://www.acer.com, select "Go" button at bottom of web page, select equivalent of "Service & Support" from navigation menu at top, then select one of the "Driver Download" links. Once on first page of "Driver Download" navigation sequence, select: o Notebook o Aspire o Aspire 4310 and then confirm the selection sequence. Then select "Microsoft Windows XP Professional x32" as your operating system. Look for category "Chipset". Assuming you have Intel chipset, the LATEST "Chipset Driver" listed is version "8.2.0.1012". Look for category "Wireless LAN". Notice there are three different vendors listed. Pick the vendor installed within your laptop. For "Broadcom", the latest "Wireless LAN Driver" listed is version "4.102.15.61". Now look for and download drivers for all other devices built-in to your motherboard. Remember, install the "chipset" drivers first, then the others. Thanks a lot for all of you here... i already do it before and i try it again now, here is the error i encountered everytime i try it.
