Answer» Done some digging haven't come up with anything as of yet. I have a small web server with a USB wireless card shared to my switch. I'd like to set up a file (FTP and Samba) off this shared internet CONNECTION, but I don't know how to set up port forwarding to this from my main wireless router. Do I set it for the computer sharing the internet? And how would I be able to access the fileserver like this? Can you further explain what you are trying to do?*censored* that was fast. I have two computers right now:
A webserver that has a wireless card in it and a second computer as a file server. How would I externally (IE my DOMAIN name) connect the fileserver if it's using the shared internet from the webserver.Do you want to connect the file server to the internet or the LAN?
What OS and service pack are you running?
What server package are you using?Want to connect the fileserver EVENTUALLY to the internet for remote access to my files during college classes, etc. Both are running XP SP2. I'm using Apache 2.2, PHP5, and cygwin SSH for the web, and I'm going to use Filezilla on the fileserver. Why haven't you GONE up to SP3?Not a big fan of windows updates, just a personal thing.BumpSP3 does have some crucial stuff in it. If you don't want every update that they throw at you then use the customise button instead of the express one.So yeah, no go huh? That's cool
