Answer» Type of Connection : Dynamic Light Status : Flashing Amber Cable Broadband Operating System : WINDOW 7 x64 Home Edition COnnection Status : Disconnected
I have a Belkin N150 Router and the Amber light wont STOP blinking , any ideas would greatly be appreciated , also im not able to connection to the internet what so ever. What all steps have you taken to try and resolve this issue? Have you tried eliminating the router by plugging directly into your cable MODEM? If you have not, be sure to unplug the power from the cable modem for 30 seconds and then plug your computer directly into the modem using the ethernet cord. After you have PLUGGED directly into the modem, check your IP address by opening the command prompt and typing ipconfig to ensure you do not have a 169.XXX.XXX.XXX ip address. If you have a 169.XXX.XXX.XXX ip, type ipconfig /renew. Check your ip once again. If you do not have a 169.XXX.XXX.XXX you should be able to get online. This has eliminated your ISP and modem as being an issue. Now unplug the modem from your computer and cycle the power from your wireless router and modem for 30 seconds by unplugging the power. Plug the modem directly into internet port on your wireless router and another ethernet cord from your computer into the LAN 1 port on the wireless router. Plug in the power for both your modem and wireless router. Check your IP address now. It should register a 192.168.X.X ip address. Attempt to get online. If you are unable to get online STILL, try pressing the reset button on the router using a paper clip or something similar in size for no longer that 5-10 seconds. You should see the lights flash on the wireless router. Cycle the power on both the modem and the router once again. Attempt to get online. If you are still unable to get online, refer to your users manual to try accessing the router configuration page. If you are unable to access the router configuration page, then it would seem that you have a bad router at this point.
