Answer» Belkin 54G router Lan port 1 blinks on and off and has nothing running to the computer. was working fine and no chnges were made before this happened. And my computer acts as if there is a network cable plugged in yet i cant access the internet or therouters IP Address, but wors fine on the playstation which is plugged into port 2. Any thoughts?Turn the computer off.
On your router, you'll FIND a pinhole marked "Reset". Keep pushing the hole, using a pencil, or a paperclip until all LIGHTS briefly come off and on. Restart computer and see how it goes. Tried that with no avail, all ports work with the PS3, but none worked wired to the computor, only flashing. I have tried diffrent CABLES with no change. Contacted Belkin who said TCP/IP was corrupted and needed to be reset. They were obviously wrong cause that had no effect. I am now believing that it may not be the router but the network adapter or its drivers. How would I find out?It could possibly be a bad NIC on the router. You could try PLUGGING into a different NIC on the router and see if that has any affect.thanks partner, i finaly fixed it, somehow my computers mac address went dynamic or SOMETHING and i had my router set up to only allow certain mac addresses, told the router to allow the new address and im back in buisness, thanks for all your help, this site is amazing
