My new (gifted) WIN2K pc with a WavePlus WP1200 802.11b PCI card #2 cannot connect to my router with encryption – if I select another NETWORK that is not protected, I can get online. The frustrating thing is that with my network WEP encrypted, I can connect with a 50% signal, then I GO to the internet, I get a server not found message. My old laptop running win98 with a IEEE 802.11g cardbus adapter gets online every TIME with no problems. Please help troubleshoot. Thanks.A "WavePlus" network card does not inspire confidence. What kind of encryption?The card does not support WPA, so I've tried WEP with both 128 and 64bit encryption; with each type, status says connected with a 50% or sometimes even an 80% signal strength, but no access to the net. Has this card ever worked correctly? What happens if you turn off the encryption and try to connect?

If all else fails, replace the wireless card.
