I hope this is the place for posting problems with bluetooth, anyway, here goes. I am running OpenSUSE 11.4 on my HP laptop, and I've tried and tried and tried, but I just cannot even get my bluetooth adapter to be detected by the OS. It is an external USB adapter and not a built-in one. I think this problem might come from a bug in this version of OpenSUSE, but I don't know entirely. If this helps, here is the output of a few commands that I ran:

$ hcitool scan

And for the sudo zypper se -i blue command:

Do you have any reason to believe your adapter is supported by OpenSUSE/Linux?Hmmmm... I guess I didn't think about that. That too would make SENSE. Do you think it would work under wine at all?I think that would be even harder to resolve. The INTEGRATION between the Linux and Wine subsystems is highly complex.

But don't worry - the chances are always good that a driver will be along shortly for your device. It might be available already, just not included in your distro.I'll keep searching for any available drivers that might be out there. I've only been using openSUSE for maybe a month now, so I'm still not clear on exactly what bugs there might be in this distro, or what it's bluetooth LIMITATIONS are at all. If I don't find anything, I guess I can just not use bluetooth.
