Solve : Can I isolate wired/wireless networks??

Answer»

I'm using an ATT gateway to WIRE connect my 2 old XP desktops to the internet. I currently have wireless TURNED off at the gateway. I bought a WIN7 laptop and will transition over to it eventually. When I TURN on wireless at the gateway I PICKUP a lot of active wireless networks as I live close to a major midwest university. Can I isolate the wired and wireless from each other in an attempt to keep prowlers out of my desktops?
Thanks, Jim You should be able to set up security at the gateway, ideally WPA or WPA2 - This would prevent others from connecting to your network entirely.camerongray: O.K. Thankyou!!Also, which modem is nit?
Newer models have a way of BLOCKING specific users or PCs from your network. This is a Motorola NVG510
