Solve : Can't get my wifi equipped laptop to connect with home wireless router?

Answer»

Recently purchased used laptop.  After turning on, the laptop does recognize that there are available wireless connections out there including my wireless router.  However, when I click on the wireless connection, it tries to hook up with it but then an ERROR message pops up showing that the system may be out of range and to refresh the listing.  I am only a few feet from the router.  I am no expert on what the problem is and how I can fix this.  Can ANYONE HELP me?  I am using a Linksis Broadband Router WRT300N.  Any help would be appreciated.Let try a few simple fixes first.

1- There should be a on/off switch or key function to turn on the wireless connection. U might have to download the user guide from the LT website.

2-Give more information about the LT u have brand, make, model, Dell, HP, Acer?  What OS MAC, Linux, WINDOW's version (Win XP SP2 or SP3)?

There isn't much more we can do without information, beside it can't connect.
Also when posting, please post the "exact" error or informational message you're referring to in "quotes".Has this laptop ever connected to the router or are you trying to set up a NEW connection?
