Answer» HELLO. I bought a laptop a few years back and after 2 days of using it, I didn't like the laptop feeling and packed it away. I recently started playing with it, now that my old desktop has crashed for good. It is a Compaq Presario CQ50-130US. Last Christmas I Bought a new laptop for my daughter and she wanted to do the Wireless connection. I have DSL ATT service. I spent 3 hours getting her computer to do all the fancy wireless stuff. After getting her computer RUNNING,I decided to try to get mine wireless. Everything is READY, except it tells me to turn the Wireless Button on. I hold it down, it turns blue and not 3 seconds later it turns orange (off) again. I have done systen checks and the only thing stopping it is the button. I am a part of the home networkCan someone please give me some pointers? I have the new 2Wire modem. I have awesome INTERNET speed, etc. I just don't want all the wires as I get to know this old, but new computer. Thanks for any help. Have a great week! Cookie You should only have to press the button of half a second. Do not hold it down. Be patient. It can take up to 30 seconds to establish a wireless link, especially if there is interference. And yes, two laptops withing three meters, about TEN feet, of each other makes mutual interference.
