Solve : Can't ping server?

I have a server with correct IP/Subnet/Gateway settings and from the server I am able to PING the gateway, client workstations, and web addresses. The FIREWALL service is stopped and disabled. However, from other workstations on the same domain, but different VLANs are unable to ping that server. It's not the only server on that VLAN and others respond just fine. Any IDEAS?Most here many never a NEED to use a VLAN.
