Solve : Cannot connect to internet (wireless, LAN or wireless card)?

Answer»

A few days ago I was connect to the internet with my broadband card and suddenly recevied a message that I was no longer connected to the internet. I was in a hotel so I connected the the LAN and received the same problem. I am only connecting locally and not to the internet.  I have reset the computer which has not fixed the problem and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program that runs the broadband card. I have windows vista as the operating system, but a true newbie to computer issues, PLEASE HELP!!
On the NETWORK icon in the system tray, it's down by the clock.  Right mouse click on the network icon, then on the context menu select DIAGNOSE and Repair.

It's as good a starting point as anywhere.

By the way, did you RESTART the modem and router, just in case one of those stopped responding?tried that, since it cannot connect to the net the solutions it tells me are to plug in a LAN cable or to reset the IP or restart the router. Since my internet is being run from a card none of those options are feasible.

The only reason I have internet right now is that I am leeching wireless from a neighbor on an older laptop
Have you tried resetting the router and modem?

Unplug both for about a minute.
Plug in the modem, wait for all the lights to come on.
Plug in the router.  Then start the computer.

If that isn't it let us know.no modem or router to SPEAK of, its a broadband cardIs it an air card, what does it use for an access point.idk, its a usb thingy that I have through sprintSo does it send a radio wave to another device that is on SITE?

If it doesn't I will recommend that you contact Sprint.

i have no idea, but i am having the same problem when I try to connect to my neighbors wireless, the icon in the corner with two computers has this triangle sign on it and it keeps saying it has limited connectivity. this was the same thing when I plugged the LAN into it 4 days ago at the hotel in VA. so obviously it is with my computer..Not necessarily, there could be an issue with the USB thingy that you have.  Have you contacted Sprint?
