I have been having a problem of my wireless internet going out for no apparent REASON for about 3 months off and on. I wiped my hard drive, reloaded everything and it worked fine for a COUPLE of days. I wiped the hd again, reloaded, everything worked fine for about 2 weeks and couldnt connect again.
Thinking this was a virus i signed on for virus malware antispyware bootcamp with Superdave and we ran all the scans coming up with nothing. I did a forum search for the problem and found a bunch of IP and winsock DOS commands from Broni which I did with no results. I also tried using winsock fix with no results. Is there anything else that may work?Quote from: Amats on May 20, 2010, 05:04:38 PM

Which hardware version & which driver are you using?

WindowsXP is very particular about drivers for wireless. From your post it appears that you have a desktop machine that was not made by ONE of the major manufacturers.
You should be aware that the AMD dual core there is a special need for updates available from Microsoft and AMD.
The following link is about laptops using the AMD dual core. However, as she read it over, you'll see that the ideas presented there really apply to the AMD dual core specifically, and not just to laptops. In other words, any computer using the AMD dual core will need the updates available from either Microsoft or AMD.

ver1.1
I have been using the driver from the installation disk but also tried downloading the one from the linksys site but no success with connecting to the wireless network. I think I may just upgrade router and adapter to a newer model.Last Monitor Version: v2.0
Doownload and install this: http://homedownloads.cisco.com/downloads/WUSB54G_dr.exeDUDE YOU ROCK!!!!!! IT WORKED (been struggling with this for 3 months) THANK YOU!THANK YOU!THANK YOU!!! Well, that victory was short lived. The next startup, wireless was offline. Anyway thats the best I've done so far. Looks like it's back to the previous option. You could try the Linsys Forum here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/linksysIf you cannot connect to your wireless router then that's because either:
1 your main computer isn't turned on.
2 You have not enabled
3 You must of unistalled and wireless program of your hard drive.
4 or it may be just you signal or dongle.Quote from: mhelsby on May 27, 2010, 02:51:19 PM

i think i have a simmilar proble, it changes from internes acsess to ether "unrecognised network" or "local only" so what i do is restart the wirless and it's working again, thats what i would do.
