Solve : Complicated-- Laptop crashes wifi internet but all devices still receive signal?

Answer»

So I have had this ongoing issue for the past few months that if I open my laptop/connect to WIFI it completely depletes our internet for all devices in the house making nothing load for anyone other than the laptop I use- and that connection on the laptop is extremely slow. We updated the laptop, got a new router today and still the problem is not fixed.

I have an Asus K55V for a laptop, our router is Linksys AC1200

I've heard of similar problems where the laptop was creating issues similar to mine their solutions were:

  • Find the PROCESS Discover.exe in background processes and end it
  • Update a buggy samsung laptops DRIVERS?
neither of these solutions worked for me. I did not have "Discover.exe" in my processes. Can you connect the laptop with a wired CAT5 cable connection and Wireless turned off and see if it still brings network to its knees or behaves?

If it brings network to its knees with wired connection, are you familiar with Wireshark to look at packets to see what is being downloaded or uploaded to consume massive amounts of bandwidth by looking for IP addresses and then google searching them to see where the data is going or coming from? A download and or upload that is heavy should show up in Wireshark as a REPEATING IP Address since the packets would be pouring over the network causing a DoS type ATTACK to network or broadcast storm which brings network to its knees and all devices on that network in a packet pile up situation.
