Solve : computer internet stopped working for unknown reason?

Answer»

my INTERNET has been working fine until a couple nights ago when my DWA-130 wireless usb adapter still connects to the routerjust fine.
Any time that i try to go to a website internet explorer 8 will try to load it and then it will start to load "res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm..."

I have TRIED to change the network settings through the 'network setup wizard' and have set it to every possible radio-button. It did not work on any setting.have you tried checking your DNS adresses?
To start with, it is not presently recommended to use IE8.  I suggest TRYING again with another browser (such as Firefox).

Secondly, please bring up a command propmt, enter "ipconfig /all" and copy and paste the results here.A few hours before it stopped I connected my brothers laptop to my computer. It created and new item in the 'network CONNECTIONS' CONTROL panel. It is called Brandon-Todd connection or something like that.

Now I have a connection named 'internet connection' that appears when connected to a wireless network.

my os is winXP SP3. It currently has all updates from microsoft update. Quote from: Rob Pomeroy on July 06, 2009, 05:50:09 AM

Have you tried deleting that connection?the brandon-todd connection goes away after i disconnect the ethernet cable.

the connection named 'internet connection' is the one that stays around. its disable button is disabled.
