Answer» I have a win xp computer and just got sudden link cable internet installed, today. The techs spent 2 hours trying to get my computer to get ACCESS to the internet and still couldnt . they tried my husbands and it worked RIGHT away. I dont understand it THOUGH, as I have been getting access to the neigbors wireless network just fine. I dont have a firewall as I had zone alarm but uninstalled it recently. I have superantispyware, AVg 7.5, rogueremover and spybot.IMHO, if you pay your ISP for your cable service, it's their obligation to MAKE it work.You mentioned a wireless connection. If you have a wireless ROUTER then you could hook to husbands computer and then configure with a WPA2-PSK security which is not to bad.., providing you have a wireless card in your computer? or get one. If you are not happy with that...Broni is right, you may have to stand on your ISP to get them to make it work..
