Solve : Connect two computers to aircard?

Answer»

Hello,
I have compass 597 aircard that I would like to use on a desktop that has windows xp sp2 and a laptop with vista premium at the same time. I thought I seen somwhere how to make the laptop a router but lost track of the web site. Well anyway what would be the best way to use both computers at the same time using 1 aircard. Im a novice so please be gental.

thanks!
arsWhat service provider are you using? It all depends on your service. They do make wireless routers for aircards. Heres an example: http://www.compuplus.com/i-Linksys-WRT54G3GAT-Wireless-G-Mobile-Broadband-Router-for-ATTTCingular-1012770~.html?sid=6syulc579hj6t45I have SPRINT service. So what I GATHER is that I need a router, a card for the desktop to talk to the router and my laptop has wifi built in and I THINK that I can you it to connect to the router, CORRECT?

THANKS!
ARSYea, get the router for the aircard, a wireless adapter for the desktop (you can use a USB adapter instead of the PCI card if you think that would be easier), and the laptop has built-in so that will be picked up. Any other QUESTIONS or issues, let us know. Good luck Thanks for the input. Now what would be a good router that not that expensive, and would I be able to use a blue tooth usb adapter to get it to the router?

Thanks!
ars
